Filipinas would surely like to receive special gifts from men because they see it as an act of thoughtfulness and love.
Now I’d like to share with you a very common conversation I have. It is safe to say that I have interacted with a lot of everyday Filipinos and Filipinas. While looking at the vegetables a few of the vendors said in Bisaya… Again I have nothing wrong with why individuals think that way, because again, yes lots of foreigners who are here do have girlfriends, or wives.
Here is a very common first interaction (which I would have in either Bisaya or Tagalog): Why? We all know that a lot of foreigners come to the Philippines because they have met a Filipina, have a Filipina Girlfriend, or have a Filipina Wife. But it occurs EVERY time I am hanging out with a girl who is simply just a friend of mine, and usually in a very open and vocal way; the girls will be stereotyped as being attached to me.
They arrive with plenty of time on their hands, single and open to the possibility of a new chapter in their life.
Meanwhile, young Filipinas see a chance for a better future for their children with a mature man of means.
There is this complete sense of disbelief when I tell them otherwise. I talk about the amazing little inspiring traits I see in Filipino hearts. I get scared that I will lose that chance to challenge Filipinos to see the other things in their culture that are beautiful.
